The Lake District Via Ferrata Extreme was launched in 2012, and is a favoured way to get round the course. More full on than the Classic it starts by dropping you down the mountainside via the large and secure metal cables, which are anchored to the hillside. You will be faced will all sorts of challenges, including; vertical ladder climbs, mountain edges, Burma bridges and sky ladders! Like the Lake District Classic Via Ferrata, after the final scramble you emerge on top of fleetwith Pike which has some of the best known views of the Lake District and Buttermere lake.

All under 16’s must be accompanied by a participating adult (18+)
Approximately 3 hours in length. Depending on fitness/weather.
You do not need previous climbing experience
You will be guided throughout the activity by professional mountain guides
Security is by a long and thick metal wire which you will be attached to at all times
Bring appropriate clothing/footwear – closed shoes/boots. Harness/Lanyards will be provided.
This is a SSSI site which means it’s a very environmentally friendly and delicate area – Your instructor will brief you more on this
